Privacy Policy

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your name and profile picture from your Google account.

Reports you generate. We store the reports you generate — including the ticker, report type, configuration parameters, and the AI-generated content — so you can access them again later.

Usage data. We collect information about how you use ClearThesis: pages visited, reports generated, features used, and general interaction patterns. This is used exclusively to improve the product.

Error and performance data. When something goes wrong, we automatically collect error reports (via Sentry) and performance metrics (via Vercel). These help us fix bugs quickly. Error reports are anonymised and do not include report content.

Payment information. If you subscribe to Pro, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number, CVV, or banking details. We only receive a subscription status and customer ID from Stripe.

To provide the service. Your account information lets you log in and access your reports. Your usage data helps us show you the right content.

To send transactional emails. We send emails when you sign up (welcome), when a report is ready, and when you request a password reset. These are functional emails — not marketing blasts.

To improve ClearThesis. Anonymised usage patterns help us understand which features are useful and where users get stuck. We never read individual users' reports to train AI models or make editorial decisions.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Running ClearThesis requires working with several trusted third-party service providers. Each receives only the minimum data required to do their job:

• Database and authentication provider — stores your account information, reports, and application data. Hosted in the US.
• AI provider — processes report requests (ticker, report type, financial data) to generate report content. Their privacy policy applies to data processed through their API.
• Email delivery provider — sends transactional emails on our behalf. Receives your email address and email content only.
• Payment processor — handles payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Receives payment details, your email, and subscription information. Their privacy policy governs payment data.
• Hosting and infrastructure provider — hosts the ClearThesis application and provides anonymised analytics and performance monitoring.
• Error monitoring service — receives anonymised error reports and stack traces when the application encounters issues.
• Financial data providers — public financial databases and SEC filings. Ticker symbols are sent to these services to retrieve company data. We do not share your personal information with these providers.

We retain your account information and reports for as long as your account is active.

If you delete your account, we permanently delete your account information and all associated reports within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics may be retained.

Stripe retains transaction records as required by law.

Authentication cookies. Supabase uses cookies to maintain your login session. These are essential for the service to function.

Analytics. We use Vercel Analytics (anonymised) to understand page traffic, and PostHog to understand how users interact with ClearThesis features. PostHog data is associated with your account so we can improve the product for your use case. You can opt out of PostHog tracking by contacting us.

We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or any form of cross-site tracking.

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Deletion — request that we delete your account and all associated data
• Correction — request that we correct inaccurate data
• Portability — request your reports in a machine-readable format

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@clearthesis.ai. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

ClearThesis is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly.

We will notify registered users by email of any material changes to this policy before they take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
